Honey Broiled Tomatoes

Nothing says summer like fresh tomatoes!   We know it’s tomato season and you’re wondering what to do with all these tomatoes your neighbor gifted to you. Thanks to Mrs. Sue Cox at Covington’s Valdosta, we present to you a honey broiled tomato recipe that is full of flavor and is the perfect summer treat. Enjoy!  

Instructions

  1. Wash & Core six (6) tomatoes
  2. Place on greased baking pan using extra virgin olive oil (EVOO)
  3. Using ¼ cup raw honey, brush tomatoes with honey
  4. Using 1 tbsp fresh chopped basil, ½ tsp salt, & ½ tsp black pepper, sprinkle each on top of tomatoes
  5. Roast @ 425 degrees for 10 minutes or more if you prefer
  6. Ladle additional juices & honey from pan atop cooked tomatoes and serve
